Langa Cultural Experience – Half day

| Description:Lying in the shadow of Table Mountain, Langa sits mere minutes away from the heart of cosmopolitan Cape Town. Yet, the two seem worlds apart. Langa’s sprawl of ramshackle makeshift housing sits alongside the highway is a stark contrast to the luxury hotels and ocean-view high-rises in Cape Town .
Townships were reserved for non-white residents, namely black Africans, Coloureds and Indians.In the 19th Century, no White people would enter a Township without fearing for their life and vice versa. This is an eye-opening experience to see how the township has developed and gives you an opportunity to meet the locals face-to-face. Your tour kicks off with a warm marimba welcome, where you will experience the rhythm, and culture that is unique to Langa. You will get to participate in an array of traditional activities, drumming, gumboot dancing, traditional head carrying and many more. And most important of all, by visiting and participating in these activities, you will be supporting the community-based initiatives and help support the economy of the Township.
